Özet
Most of the extensive worldwide studies in vernacular architecture are generally focusing on the documentation, the analysis and the conservation of either tangible values or intangible values. However, there is little study on how to document and conserve vernacular architecture as an integrated entity considering the mutual interrelations of the tangible and the intangible values. This study intends to clarify the intangible values of building culture in vernacular architecture as well as tangible features; and aims to seeks for ways to combine the extensive researches which have unconnectedly been carried on either tangible values or intangible values to integrate them in to the conservation studies of cultural heritage. The vernacular architecture in Amasya as a case study is examined by using an integrated methodology including physical documentation techniques and ethnographic methods to understand the mutual relations of the physical characteristics and the intangible values of building culture as their creators.
