Özet Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effect of the navigation program in the management of fatigue and insomnia symptoms associated with head and neck radiotherapy. Method: This randomized controlled, experimentally designed study was conducted with the participation of 88 patients with head and neck cancer receiving radiotherapy, between November 2018 and March 2020, with 88 patients with head and neck cancer receiving radiotherapy, a prospective randomized controlled study. While standard treatment approaches of the hospital were applied to all patients, a navigation program was applied in addition to the patients in the study group (n=41). Patient identification form and quality of life scales were used in the study. The scales were repeated to the patients at the first, fourth and seventh weeks. Results: Of the patients in the study, 80.7% were male and the mean age was 58.68±10.67 years. Nursing navigation was applied to 53.4% of the cases. The 4th week and 7th week sleeplessness and fatigue score measurements of the navigation group were found to be statistically significantly lower than the control group (p<0.005). As a result of the pairwise comparisons; In the control group, the increase in the 4th week compared to the 1st week, the 7th week compared to the 1st week and the 7th week compared to the 4th week was statistically significant. showed that it increased the general well-being of the patients (p <0.05).
