Özet
Every science has its own principles. These principles are also present in Arabic rhetoric. The science of rhetoric was built on these unwritten principles at the beginning. The principled way of thinking naturally dominated the texts. This has been carried over to modern times through the development of rhetoric. The establishment of the principles of vocabulary and grammar required intensive efforts. Collecting data in the identification of grammatical causes has been the main point in the formation of legal maxims. With Islam, this theoretical aspect of the Arabic language gained a divine text that could protect it. The theories produced in the context of the endeavor to understand the Qurʾān, the main reference source of eloquence is the Holy Qurʾān. The development of Arabic eloquence is not independent from the Qurʾān. This study aims to identify the basic principles of Arabic rhetoric. In addition, the study aims to explain these principles in the specific context of the Holy Qurʾān. There is no previous study that discussed these principles before. It is not possible to cover all the principles in a single study. Therefore, the principles within the scope of the science of Me‘ānī have been prioritized because it constitutes the basis of Arabic rhetoric. In this context, this study analyzes fifteen items. The determination of these principles is important for the establishment of the structures to be built upon them. With this study, which emulates the position of Majallah’s legal maxims in Islamic law, the basic principles of rhetoric will have the character of principles that can be used in education. These principles identified through the examination and analysis of classical sources, have a nature that is not difficult to memorize, and this will provide the same convenience to facilitate teaching as the benefit provided by patterns and templates.
