Özet The purpose of this study was to determine the energy use and greenhouse gas emission levels in kumquat production. Energy use efficiency indicators and greenhouse gas emission figures for the 2022–2023 production season have been defined. The study was conducted during the 2022–2023 production period in Mersin province, ranking in second place in terms of citrus production in Türkiye. The energy input and output for kumquat production have been calculated as 24,914.75 MJ ha<sup>−1</sup> and 8635.50 MJ ha<sup>−1</sup>, respectively. The energy use efficiency was found to be 0.35, with a specific energy of 5.48 MJ kg<sup>−1</sup>, an energy productivity of 0.18 kg MJ<sup>−1</sup> and a net energy value of −16,279.25 MJ ha<sup>−1</sup>. The required direct energy percentage is 36.79%, indirect energy is 63.21%, renewable energy is 2.77% and non-renewable energy is 97.23%. The total greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated to be 820.79 kgCO<inf>2eq</inf> ha<sup>−1</sup> and the greenhouse gas emission rate was 0.18 kgCO<inf>2eq</inf> kg<sup>−1</sup>. In the study, the highest energy input rate was found to belong to chemical fertilizers with 14,747.25 MJ ha<sup>−1</sup> (59.19%). The highest greenhouse gas emission was found to belong to diesel fuel input with 415.38 kgCO<inf>2eq</inf> ha<sup>−1</sup>(50.61%).
