Özet
Nasolabial cyst is a rare, non-odontogenic, benign, slow-growing developmental soft tissue cyst taking place in nasal alar region. Nasolabial cyst is more common in fourth-fifth decades of life in females and its pathogenesis is uncertain. The objective of this study was to report a case of nasolabial cyst and to describe its magnetic resonance and ultrasonographic imaging features. A 34 year old woman patient with a history of painless swelling in right nasolabial region was presented. The patient was first evaluated by an otolaryngologist and magnetic resonance imaging was taken. A fluctuant and smooth mass was found with palpation in the clinical evaluation. A cystic hypoechoic lesion was revealed in the ultrasonographic imaging. The result in the pathology report after surgery is nasolabial cyst. Ultrasonography is a safely used method in maxillofacial region to show soft tissue lesions. Magnetic resonance imaging provides excellent soft tissue contrast resolution without ionizing radiation.
