Özet Objective: The purpose of this in vitro study is to compare the opalescence parameter (OP) and contrast ratio (CR) of three different CAD–CAM materials with different chemical compositions and various thicknesses. Materials and Methods: Ninety specimens were prepared from leucitereinforced feldspathic ceramic (LS, G-Ceram), lithium disilicate ceramic (LD, IPS e.max CAD), and resin nano ceramic (RN, Lava Ultimate) CAD-CAM blocks with 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, and 1 mm thickness (n=10). Color measurements were performed with a spectrophotometer on black and white backgrounds, and CIE L*a*b* values were recorded. The OP and CR of the specimens were calculated. Statistical analysis was performed with a two-way ANOVA and Bonferroni tests (α=0.05). Results: For OP and CR, the main effects of material and thickness, as well as the material and thickness interaction, were found to be significant (P<0.001). Material type had a greater effect on OP than thickness (ηp2=0.973), however thickness had a greater effect on CR (ηp2=0.879). The highest mean OP value was obtained in the RN group, while the lowest was obtained in the LS group (P<0.001). Specimens with 0.7 mm and 1 mm thicknesses showed similar OP values, while 0.5-mm thick specimens showed statistically lower OP values (P<0.05). The LD and RN groups exhibited similar CR values (P>0.05); however, the LS group showed a higher mean CR value (P<0.001). Although all three materials exhibited similar CR values at 1 mm thickness, the LD and RN groups at 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm thickness showed lower CR values compared to the LS group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The type and thickness of the material affected the OP and CR values. As thickness increases, CR decreases, but OP increases. The thickness had a greater impact on the CR parameter than the material type. Opalescence, however, was influenced more by the type of material than by its thickness.
