Özet The national wrestling of the Turks is "Karakucak". In addition to this type, which originated in Central Asia and has been continuing in Anatolia for ten centuries without losing its bases, the most common wrestling in Anatolia is oil wrestling. It has been determined that wrestling, which is understood to have established a throne in the hearts of the Turkish society in terms of social, cultural and religi-ous aspects, has also taken a place in the hearts of painting artists, who are among the most emotional individuals of the society, and has been the subject of many works as a popular theme. However, since it has been seen that no research has been done on the reflections of the ancestor sport wrestling in Anatolian Turkish painting art, it was thought that a research to be done in this field would be important in terms of transferring the culture to the future. For this reason, it is aimed to examine the subject under the title of "Ancestor Sport Wrestling and Its Reflections in Anatolian Turkish Painting Art" and to contribute to the literature about the results. The first examples of wrestling in Anatolian Turkish painting art were encountered in Ottoman Period miniatures and it was discussed that the theme of wrestling was the subject of many artists in the Republican Period. The subject of the research is limited to the examples of wrestling works in the painting arts of the Ottoman Period and the Republic Period. Among the universe in question, the works of Nakkaş Osman’s and Levni’s miniatures about wrestling representing the Ottoman Period and works of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Cemal Tollu, Ercan Gülen, Fahri Sümer, Hasan Saygın, İlhami Atalay, Mahmut Cüda and Mustafa Aslıer about wrestling, representing the Republican Period which were preferred to form the sample of the research. In the selection of the artists in the sample, their stable work on wrestling has been a refe-rence. Qualitative research methods and techniques were used in the study, which was based on the general scanning model.
