Lipomas, which are rarely seen in the oral and maxillofacial region, are the most common benign tumors of mesenchymal origin in the soft tissues of the human body. Its etiology remains unclear, but it is thought to be caused by trauma, familial predisposition, alcohol and some chronic diseases. Different histological variants of oral lipoma have been given in literature. Since intraoral lipomas are mostly asymptomatic, they are rare pathologies that are noticed during routine dental examinations. They rarely cause pain, which delays seeking treatment. It is rare for it to reach very large sizes. Fine needle aspiration biopsy, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT)) and magnetic resonance imaging methods are used for diagnosis. In our study, surgical treatment and histopathological features of intraoral lipoma in the buccal region of a 27-year-old female patient who applied to Selcuk University Faculty of Dentistry Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinic with the complaint of swelling on the right cheek, which has been present for a long time and whose dimensions are increasing.
