Politeness, elegance, civilization and morality in the attitudes and behaviors that people living in a society should observe in their relations with each other constitute the rules of social decorum. Manners of social decorum are shaped by religion, belief, morals, values and tradition that have been accepted as dominant in societies over time. For this reason, it is possible to see changes in the principles of it and the behaviors required by it over time. In this study, the change in the phenomenon of social decorum over time is examined. The study also aims to determine the perception of today’s social decorum and the views of adult individuals on education of social decorum. For this purpose, the semi-structured interview technique is implemented in the study. In the research, which was limited to individuals residing in Konya, 23 participants over the age of 18 were asked questions to determine their perception of social decorum and their views on education of social decorum. In order to reflect maximum diversity, individuals from different educational backgrounds and age groups were included in the research. The collected data were subjected to descriptive analysis and various findings were obtained. I believe that this study will contribute to the concept of social decorum and its teaching by determining how people perceive it today and their expectations and thoughts about the social decorum education.
